RELEASE DATE: SEPTEMBER 7, 2001
Why Does This Episode Deserve a Sweet Victory[]
- Non-stop hilarious and memorable jokes and moments, such as:
- "Is mayonnaise an instrument?"
- Squidward's face gets distorted by a loud blast of music
- The scene where Patrick kick’s Sandy and then beats him up and stuff him in a trombone offscreen, and then delivers this hilarious one liner: "Whoever's the owner of the white Sedan, you left your lights on."
- Harold's line BIG! 'MEATY! CLAWS!"
- The super funny scene where the "drums" blow on their sticks launching it at Squidward, followed by the subtle suicide joke where he says, "Too bad that didn't kill me."
- The Pet Hospital
- SpongeBob's "eager face"
- This is the first episode here Squidward gets a happy ending. Although, episodes after this episode had Squidward getting a happy ending are "House Fancy", "Love That Squid", "Suction Cup Symphony", "Squid Plus One", and "Enchanted Tiki Dreams", but when it was first aired, it was truly a sight to behold.
- Elephant out of the room: The ending is truly magnificent, as it is one of the most memorable moments in the history of the show's run, as it shows great visuals. Squidward gets his praise and glory, Squilliam gets his comeuppance, and a great song that's catchy, victorious, and has inspiring lyrics.
- A very positive message that no matter who you are, you can still make a good change in the world.
- Flanderization and OOC moments done right. It was well executed and a good example of good Flandering.
- The scene with Squidward making a fake excuse for his band dying in a marching accident but the Bikini Bottomites being inspired by SpongeBob to practice for Squidward will pull heartstrings without mercy. It's a very heartwarming and emotional moment that greatly shows what people love about SpongeBob.
- SpongeBob is at is his absolute best in this episode.
- SpongeBob's friendly attitude was shown in a very positive light, as not only is he trying to help Squidward, he discourages everyone from fighting, he encourages everyone to give it their all for Squidward with a creative method not done by shows that much, and he encourages Squidward to show himself to the world and never give up. It's also nice to see him as the voice of reason in this episode, when he usually isn't.
